Graduate Research Appreciation Day (GRAD) 2025

Hosted by the Graduate Student Government (GSG), GRAD is UMD’s flagship annual event celebrating the research, creativity, and innovation of our graduate student community. The event brings together students, faculty, staff, and administrators from across all colleges and disciplines for a day of scholarly exchange, networking, and recognition.
What to Expect:
Poster Sessions & Oral Presentations from graduate students across disciplines
Opening remarks by UMD Provost and GSG President
Faculty and Postdoc Judges providing feedback and recognizing top presentations
Breakfast, lunch, and refreshments provided for all attendees
Awards & Recognition for outstanding research presentations
Opportunities to network with peers, faculty, and university leadership
Call for Presenters:
Graduate students are encouraged to submit research in any stage—completed projects, thesis work, class papers, or even posters from previous conferences are all welcome! This is a supportive, interdisciplinary environment to share your work and practice communicating research to a broad audience.
