Conflicts of interest (COI) are a common occurrence in a university environment, and managing them is crucial to maintaining the integrity of research, scholarship, instruction, and administrative functions. Join us for a workshop led by the University of Maryland’s Conflict of Interest Committee Chair and members, where you will learn about what constitutes COI, how and when to disclose potential COI, and the importance of following a COI management plan to ensure research integrity.

During this workshop, we will cover a range of topics including university policy, what constitutes a COI, how to disclose potential COIs, and managing potential conflicts--with a special emphasis on entrepreneurship. We will also address tricky situations that may arise and provide information on the resources available at UMD to help you navigate conflicts of interest.

The goal of this workshop is to provide you with the knowledge and awareness to help keep your research results above question and your career on track. By attending this workshop, you will gain a better understanding of the importance of managing conflicts of interest and how to do so effectively.

This workshop will be held IN PERSON only, no online link will be provided. We encourage all researchers to attend and look forward to seeing you there.
