TEDCO Maryland Innovation Initiative: Translational Funding for Your Innovation
- To
- The Hotel at the University of Maryland

Maryland Innovation Initiative (MII) was created to foster the transition of promising innovations having significant commercial potential from university labs, where they were discovered, to the commercial sector, where they can be developed into products and services that meet identified market needs. Specifically, it is the intent of the program to foster the commercialization of such technologies through technology validation, market assessment, and the creation of start-up companies. MII provides $130K in funding to research labs for technology validation and business planning, followed by $300K to startups formed to bring the innovation to market. Please join us to meet MII Executive Director Dr. Abi Kulshreshtha, and learn about this funding program, and how it can help move your innovation from your lab into the market to benefit the public. A short presentation will be followed by discussion and Q&A.
Presenter: Abi Kulshreshtha, PhD, Executive Director, Maryland Innovation Initiative (MII). Abi’s expertise lies at the intersection of scientific innovation, economic development, and entrepreneurship, and he has worked across the U.S. advancing regional economic competitiveness through research and development.
