Our very first session will ask questions about religious and spiritual practice, wellness, and the potentials for benefits and harms. How have you seen or experienced these in your own life? What role does religion and spiritual practice play in mental and physical health? Join William Mori-Ramos '10, social worker and UMD Assistant Chaplain, learn about what the research can tell us and chat over free lunch.

Directions: The Memorial Chapel is located behind Marie Mount Hall on Chapel Lane. Use the large side door on Chapel Lane to arrive right at the Lounge!

William Mori-Ramos graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2010 with a B.A. in Sociology, and from University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2014 with a Master of Social Work. Currently studying at Metro Baltimore Seminary to earn a Master of Divinity.

In the field of Social Work, primarily worked in the field of Developmental Disabilities as a case manager, Day Program Director, and Financial Advocate. In 2022, transitioned to working with the newly re-branded 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline as an overnight hotline supervisor. In 2025, came back to UMD to work full-time as a Ministry Assistant within the university chaplaincy through Baptist Collegiate Ministries, based at the Memorial Chapel.

Married in 2013 with two boys, aged 12 and 10 – life is a constant tornado of fun and pulling his hair out. :) He Has attended church at Aletheia Church College Park since 2023, which meets at the Paint Branch Elementary School.
