Join the University of Maryland College of Information (INFO) and the UMD Libraries for an event celebrating the vibrant legacy of D.C.’s punk and indie zine culture. From DIY publishing to grassroots activism, zines have long served as vehicles for marginalized voices and agents of social change.
This panel discussion brings together scholars and creators to explore the history, cultural significance, and evolving future of zines in social justice movements. Punk Resistance invites participants to engage with the creative power of self-publishing as both community archiving and a living practice of self-expression, community building, and dissent.
