Jonathan Wilkenfeld Distinguished Lecture Series

The Center for International Development and Conflict Management (CIDCM) invites the campus community to the fourth annual Wilkenfeld Distinguished Lecture Series, honoring the legacy of Jonathan Wilkenfeld.

This year’s lecture features Professor Erik Gartzke from University of California, San Diego, who will explore how deterrence theory and bargaining approaches help explain the causes of war and other forms of political violence. He will discuss what changes when deterrence is reconsidered through a bargaining lens—and what that means for theory, strategy, and real-world policy decisions.
