Come hang out with Dr. Cecile Accilien who's area of studies are Francophone African and Caribbean Literatures and Cultures, Gender & Sexuality Studies and Film & Media Studies. We will be discussing the impact of accents, what it means to move through the word with a certain way of speaking, and experiences of microaggressions, discrimination, and erasure - particularly for those with ways of speaking that deviate from the standard American dialect.
