Dr. Francisco Barrenechea is an Associate Professor in the Department of Classics. His research interests include Greek drama, Latin epic, and the performance and reception of ancient theater, particularly in Latin America. He is currently working on his second book, on the reception of Greek tragedy in Enlightenment Spain and Mexico.
Dr. Juan Luis Burke is an Associate Professor of Architecture. His research explores the early modern history and theory of architecture and urbanism in Mexico, as well as its connections with Spain and Italy, with a particular focus on the intersections of architectural form, urban governance, race, and the politics of empire.
Dr. Anahí Espíndola is an Associate Professor in the Department of Entomology, where she researches, teaches and does extension work. Her main research interests are in understanding how the environment affects the ecology and evolution of inter-specific interactions, with a particular interest in specialized pollination interactions from the Americas. Her work integrates natural history, geospatial, field work and phylogenomic approaches.
