After the panel, join mini roundtables for small-group conversations where you can ask questions, gain practical insights, build connections and explore potential career opportunities in international trade.

5:45–6:45 p.m. | Mini roundtables and light refreshments
Join small-group conversations with professionals to ask questions, gain practical insights and learn about career paths in international trade. Students will rotate tables every 15 minutes, giving them the chance to connect with multiple professionals, ask questions and explore different career paths in trade.

Larry Legates holds a bachelor’s degree from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University and an MBA in international supply chain management from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business. He is the director of global export controls at Cummins Inc., where he oversees export controls and sanctions activities for the $24 billion power solutions company. In this role, he leads a global and diverse team that drives export compliance practices for Cummins in sectors including transportation, agriculture, marine, construction, mining and power generation.

Pamela M. Reed is the head of trade and customs – Americas operations at Pandora Jewelry LLC, where she oversees cross-border compliance and strategy across the United States, Canada and Latin America. A licensed customs broker (LCB), certified customs specialist (CCS), certified export specialist (CES) and project management professional (PMP), she brings more than 20 years of experience in global trade compliance, supply chain security and risk management.

Nick Porter is the business development manager at the Maryland Port Administration, where he has dedicated the past nine years to driving growth and strengthening partnerships within the maritime and logistics sectors. With a career spanning organizations such as UPS Freight Forwarding, Forward Intermodal and Walmart/Sam’s Club, Porter brings experience across supply chain, freight and retail operations. His diverse background gives him a unique perspective on global trade and transportation, making him a valuable voice in conversations about the future of logistics and port development.
Emmanuel Eshemokhai Etsu
Logistics Specialist
Mediterranean Shipping Co.
Emmanuel Eshemokhai Etsu is a Smith School graduate and a logistics specialist with the Mediterranean Shipping Co. in Baltimore, where he works in the equipment control unit. His professional interests include strategy, supply chain resilience, and the intersection of sustainability and global business. He previously interned with The Giant Co.’s perishable distribution center in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, where he applied Lean Six Sigma and change management techniques to reduce product damage, enhance efficiency and support workforce engagement. With experience spanning logistics, consulting, recycling and the circular economy, Etsu brings a global perspective shaped by cross-cultural roots and an ambition to connect supply chain strategy with international business and diplomacy. Beyond work, he enjoys cycling, hiking, boxing and swimming, and is passionate about mentoring the next generation of leaders in supply chain and global business.
