The Clothesline Project

Students gather outdoors on McKeldin Mall viewing T-shirts displayed on clotheslines as part of The Clothesline Project, a visual awareness initiative addressing gender-based violence. The scene shows a campus community engaging with survivor stories and messages written on shirts. Event details: April 1st, 10 AM–2 PM. Hosted by CARE to Stop Violence at the University Health Center.

he Clothesline Project is a visual representation of the impacts of sexual and relationship violence on the campus community. This event from the CARE Office provides community members with an opportunity to confront the issue of power-based violence by creating and displaying their own messages on a shirt during SAAM.
