When: Wednesday, November 13th, 2024 from 12 - 1:30 pm ET

Where: Virtually on Zoom

Description: The frequency and intensity of extreme weather events such as Hurricanes Helene and Milton are bringing the topic of climate migration to the forefront of American minds. But what exactly is climate migration, and how might it affect your community? Join Kelly Leilani Main, Executive Director of Buy-In Community Planning and co-author of The Next American Migration: What Cities Should Know About Climate Change and Populations on the Move, to learn about the current state of research and policy making driving the conversation around climate migration. Kelly will also discuss her partnerships with frontline communities to design and implement voluntary approaches to climate relocation and home buyout programs through her work with Buy-In.
