With exclusive access for UMD students and support from the University Career Center, Handshake offers numerous ways to connect with potential employers and navigate your career path effectively.

In this session, we will discuss:

• How to set up and optimize your UMD Handshake account to attract employers.
• Utilizing Handshake resources like job listings, company reviews, and career events.
• Applying for opportunities with best practices to stand out.
• Engaging with employers through on-campus interviews, career fairs, and messaging.
• Ensuring trust and safety by recognizing and reporting suspicious postings.

By the end of this session, you will know how to navigate Handshake effectively, maximizing your chances of finding valuable opportunities and building a strong professional network.
