Dr. Miriam Sharp is the Laboratory Safety Manager and Chemical Hygiene Officer at UMD's Department of Environmental Safety, Sustainability and Risk.
About the Talk
Sharp will discuss best practices for field safety and the range of UMD resources available to support GEOG.
After a Q&A, she will lead us ina group activity to discuss how to handle some hypothetical field situations.
- Build capacity to manage risks during fieldwork and other work environments.
- Be aware of UMD resources and support.
- Prepare for expanded NSF and NASA requirements on responsible conduct in research training and safe and inclusive workplans.
