Flamenco is an art form that emerged in southern Spain in the 16th century from the blending of three cultures and three religions. Over time, it has carried the stories and spirit of its people, serving as a powerful vehicle for expression.

Aula de Flamenco is a series of conferences designed to deepen understanding of flamenco’s social and historical roots and to highlight its significance in Spanish culture. Each 90-minute session features an engaging discussion followed by a live artistic performance or flamenco demonstration.

Presented by Torcuart and sponsored by the Department of Spanish and Portuguese.
