Voxtopia: Sustainable Storytelling through Music

Arts for All, the School of Music, and the Office of Sustainability are partnering with the Composer In-Residence, Clarice Assad, for an interactive night of community-building and musical exploration. All are welcome to attend the experience. Please find more details and the registration below:

Date & Time: Tuesday, October 7th, 7-8:30 pm. 

Location: The Clarice, School of Music

Register Now to Experience:

  • Climate Change-Related Performance by Clarice Assad
  • Collective Soundscape-making (a soundscape is "a sound or combination of sounds that forms or arises from an immersive environment")  
  • Small break-out groups
  • Climate anxiety resources & art activities with the SustainableUMD Ambassadors

Feel free to bring your own instruments to the event to aid in your music-making. Instruments and guided singing will also be available to participants during the event.

The event is limited to the first 100 UMD community members to register, the remainder of the registrants will be put on a waitlist. Those who are selected to attend the event will receive a confirmation email and Google Calendar invite at least one week before the event.

Please note that the soundscapes created during the event may be recorded and integrated into some of Clarice Assad's work.
