The First-Year Innovation & Research Experience (FIRE) will host The FIRE Summit 2024 on Friday, December 6, from 5 - 6:30 pm in the Edward St. John Learning & Teaching Center (ESJ). At the event, we will have 150+ student teams from each of our sixteen current research streams presenting their accomplishments in various formats.
We hope campus partners will see this as an opportunity to meet and potentially recruit research-trained students in the natural, social, health, and computer sciences, engineering, and the arts and humanities. Even if you are not someone who can take advantage of passionate, accomplished students looking for their next step, please come congratulate them on their resilience and follow-through in the face of challenges brought by their authentic research pursuits.
We will have food, additional presentations, and 1200+ active FIRE Semester 1, FIRE Semester 3, and Peer Research Mentor students in attendance.
This event is open to the entire UMD community and their guests. We look forward to seeing you and sharing FIRE's growth and accomplishments.
