From Igor Stravinsky’s memorial Symphonies of Wind Instruments, composed to honor his friend Claude Debussy, through the joy, contemplation and grief of a terminally ill Lili Boulanger in D’un matin de printemps and D’un soir triste, to the bacchanalian fetes of Florent Schmitt’s virtuosic Dionysiaques this performance is sure to be evocative.
