Students from across the School of Music come together for a chamber performance of minimalist works. This recital features the UMD School of Music’s Fellowship String Quartet, Atria Quartet, the UMD Percussion Ensemble and UMD student soloists in works by Steve Reich, Philip Glass and Julia Wolfe, including a performance of Reich’s Vermont Counterpoint with dancers choreographed by School of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies alumna Isabella Grady ‘25.
This concert is part of the 10th International Conference on Music and Minimalism hosted by the School of Music and the Society for Minimalist Music. Gathering more than fifty scholars from around the globe, the weekend of events includes research presentations, keynote lectures, performances, and an exhibit and sound installation, with support from Arts for All, ARHU, and Clarice Presents.
