McKeldin Waste Audit

Join us for McKeldin Library's first-ever Waste Audit!

In partnership with UMD Facilities Management, we're hosting a hands-on Waste Audit at McKeldin Library—and we need your help! We'll be sorting a full day’s worth of McKeldin Library’s waste to see how much waste is being generated, what’s being thrown out, and if it’s being sorted properly. The results will help us spot trends and improve recycling, composting, and waste reduction efforts across campus.

Volunteers are welcome to come and go at any time—no need to stay the entire event! Whether you have 20 minutes or an hour, your help makes a difference. Gloves and materials will be provided. Join us to support a cleaner, more sustainable UMD—one piece of waste at a time!
