In the current sociopolitical client, faculty and administrators may be reluctant to address topics and dynamics that may evoke strong emotions. Yet, the University's commitment to fearlessness invites us all to be bold and courageous in pursuing the big challenge of educating and leading. Broaching is a research-informed strategy to initiate complex conversations and deepen relationship. This session will introduce participants to fundamental elements of broaching and invite us to consider how we can adapt broaching in our positions and roles. Part 2 of this series, scheduled for November 13, will allow for participants to consider case scenarios and practice concrete broaching approaches in teaching and leading.
