Distinguished Scholar-Teacher Lecture

Professor Valérie K. Orlando, SLLC, was awarded the 2023-2024 Distinguished Scholar-Teacher Award, and will present a lecture on "The Importance of Connections and 'Relations' in the African and Caribbean 'Tout-Monde': A Literary World of French Expression" as part of the Distinguished Scholar-Teacher Lecture Series. The lecture will take place on Oct. 16, 2023 on the campus of University of Maryland College Park, in Room 0200 of Skinner Hall, with a reception to follow. (RSVP required)

The Distinguished Scholar-Teacher Program honors members of our faculty who have demonstrated outstanding scholarly achievement as well as outstanding accomplishments as teachers. This program recognizes those who have led the way in both areas and who thus serve as models of excellence for the faculty of a top research university. Each year, the Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs selects a panel of former Distinguished Scholar-Teachers to review nominees for the award. You are among the faculty members they chose from an impressive group of candidates. Please join us at this very special event.

To view the lecture via Zoom, please register here and you will receve connection reminders.
