TEDCO's Maryland Innovation Initiative (MII) was created as a partnership between the State of Maryland and five Maryland academic research institutions and offers up to $265,000 in funding to UMD researchers as translational and startup funding. Phase 1 of the MII program provides $115,000 (no overhead!) that goes directly to the PI's lab for a technology validation project. Phase 3 of the program provides $150,000 in funding to a new startup launched around the technology. Please join UMD's MII Site Miners to learn how this funding program works and what makes a winning application.
