Love sports and/or analytics? Join Jake Hirshman, Senior Business Analyst from DraftKings, Inc., as he talks about how analytics are used to drive stakeholder insights surrounding contest sizing and strategy.

Jake Hirshman is a Senior Business Data Analyst at DraftKings, Inc. Over the past 3 years, he has worked on the Daily Fantasy and Marketplace products supporting the Operations teams. Jake grew up in Pittsburgh and graduated from the University of Maryland in 2020 with a double major in Finance and Information Systems and a minor in Statistics. During his time at UMD, he was involved in the University Honors Program, Quantitative Finance Fellows program, and several extracurricular organizations. Maryland enabled him to find opportunities to combine his passion for sports and math through various projects and a finance internship at Teamworks, a digital software company specializing in software for athletic organizations and its players

This event is part of a semester-long series to give students the opportunity to learn from Alumni working with analytics in various industries. This is a casual interactive session where students are encouraged to bring their lunch and listen to the featured speaker discuss their career background, current responsibilities, how analytics is used in their position/department, how it benefits the company, and answer any questions from students!

This is an interactive intimate event so don't be shy, make sure to turn those cameras on! Also, feel free to leave early if you have other obligations staying for the full hour is not mandatory!
