Witness the world premiere of University of Maryland School of Music Faculty member Mark Wilson's Pas de deux!
Dedicated to the Murasaki Duo, Pas de deux features 3 contrasting movements, each with its own characteristic theme. The first movement explores the Ancient Egyptian's interpretation of the horizons as the gateways of yesterday and tomorrow and the cyclical nature of eternity. The second, a tango, makes reference to Tristan und Isolde, before the piece ends with an energetic finale inspired by Bulgarian rhythm.
The program also features a wide and exciting variety of pieces by Price, Beethoven, Moeran, Bloch and Chopin. This is a performance that you will not want to miss!
