This primer will provide an overview of the various Intellectual Property rights, e.g., to protect your ideas (patents), creations (copyrights), brands (trademark) and professional know-how and information (trade secrets). The program will explore the various IP rights including the exclusive rights conveyed to IP owners and more. Key topics to be discussed:

* What are the various IP rights

* How to file for federal rights

* Famous and current cases

* Interesting issues for each IP right

* How to sue, and what to do when sued for infringement

* What are the damages, my liability for infringement
